Crusty Barnacles is your everyday informal group of folks who enjoy all things water, especially the art of open water swimming.
We can’t emphasize enough that we strongly welcome kayakers and paddlers who enjoy the ocean, appreciate the comedy of watching swimmers frolic about, and like to spot for passing boats and large sea mammals and fish.
While most of the Barnacles live in and around the South Shore of Boston, we welcome swimmers from all over the region. Swims will generally leave from Nantasket Beach in Hull but on occasion and depending on conditions, from Rock Beach or Sandy Beach in Cohasset (Check the latest posts for updates).

Air temperature is expected to reach for the mid 40’s in Boston today! The long days of winter may be upon us sooner than we were planning.
Rumor has it that the Crusty Barnacles 2016 Summer season kicks off on Sunday April 24, 2016 meetup 8 to 8:30, water sometime around 9 I suspect. I for one am looking forward to a big turnout. Chris.
