No better way to start the midweek workday off than a sunrise swim, especially with the heat we’ve been having. To get a sense of conditions ahead of time, like if you are waking up when I do at 4:45 on account of toddler-induced insomnia, check out this link to NOAA’s  Boston harbor buoy BHBM3 for water temp that correlates closely to Nantasket and other South Shore beaches and this link to NOAA’s Station 4401 will tell you wind and wave data.

With the exception of a few very brave water souls, I recommend a sleeveless wetsuit to take the bite out of the cold or a full suit for keeping your whole body warm.  Crusty Barnacles now get their own discount so email me if your’e thinking about it and I’ll share the code.  From personal experience, they make the best and most mobile shoulders in full suits and for strong swimmers that want no shoulder restrictions, their Volt sleeveless is by far the best option out there (pictured above). We also have discounts for their surfing wetsuits (also the best by far from personal experience).
